Townsville General Hospital, Hyperbaric Medical Unit
Rectangular Chamber

Operational since the move to the new hospital facility in late 2001 the TL20 replaces the Comex 1800 which was leased from the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS).

The new Rectangular design Triple Lock 20 person (TL20) includes an 8 person 6 ATA Inner and Entrance Lock as well as a 12 person 3 ATA Main Lock.

A large 1200mm wide x 1920mm high pneumatically controlled Main Lock door enables trolleys and wheelchairs to be loaded into the chamber smoothly. An environmental control system keeps the temperature and humidity at comfortable levels inside the chamber while patients breathe oxygen through hoods or BIBS.

Dual easy opening 350mm square x 500mm long medical locks are large enough to accommodate bedpans resuscitators and ventilators. A state of the art push button control console makes chamber operation safe and simple.

Large diameter T.V. ports and a 4 channel entertainment system provide entertainment for the patients while a flush toilet in the entrance lock enhances patient and attendant comfort
