The European Underwater and Baromedical Society (EUBS) has been founded in 1974 and is one of the oldest scientific societies in the field of underwater and hyperbaric medicine. The objectives of EUBS are to advance the science of pressure-related medicine and related disciplines, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy and compressed gas physiology; to assist in the promotion of research and medical/physiologic education in these fields and in the publication of the results of such research. EUBS organises a yearly Scientific Meeting (usually around September) and co-publishes the Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine journal.
